Tongdosa Seongbo Museum
This museum opened in April, 1999 on the purpose of preserving cultural assets of temples, doing a systematic research and giving the public of proper understanding about Buddhism culture. The museum at the present houses one National Treasure, 17 Treasures, and about 30,000 Buddhism Assets including 39 Local Tangible Cultural Assets ranging from the prehistoric era to the modern period. The most featuring remains are about 600 Buddhism paintings. These Buddhism artworks include a variety of genre from the draft, small paintings to 13m high super sized paintings, which are assessed as the museum having the most abundant documents throughout the world. Tongdosa Seongbo Museum, running exhibit halls based on these Buddhism paintings, is Korea's unique museum specialized in Buddhism paintings.
