This temple was established by Sambeop, a student of Uisang in the reign ofQueen Seondeok of Silla (723). Stele for Ssanggyesa Jingamseonsa Daegongtap,Korea's national treasure number 47 directly written by Goun Choe Chi-won,and the top (Head) of the Sixth Patriarch Hui Neng were set up in it.
