Geoje Hyanggyo is a public Confucian school which was mo ved from Gohyeon to Geoje in 1664 A.D., in the 5th year of King Hyeonjong’s reign (The 18th King of Joseon). It consists of Daeseongjeon (Confucian shrine), Dongmu, Seomu, Naesam mun (inner gate), Myeongryundang (lecture hall), Dongjae & Seojae (study hall), Punghwaru. At Daeseongjeon, national Confucian rite is practiced every year to revere the life of 4 Chinese saints including Confucius and 4 Kory osaints.
