The name of Bukbyeongsan is originated from the shape of the mountain as it embraces Gohyeon area like a screen. There were big temples called Eomjeoksa (Eunjeoksa) and Beopryulsa built in the period of Silla Dynasty but today, you can only find the cornerstone of the temples. The precincts of Beopryulsa was so huge that it stretched to Aju-ri of Jangseungpo and the three-storied stone pagoda is still in DSME.
