Mt.Mangunsan is about 784m above sea level and is the tallest mountain in Namhae. This is where most mountain climbers are in as azaleas have filled the top of the mountain. It takes about an hour and half from Hwabangsa Temple to the top of the mountain. Hwabangsa Temple was the site where Admiral Yi Sun-sin prayed with his solders for victory against the Japanese. Built as a small hermitage during Koryo period, Mangunsa became a temple of its own in 2007.
