Goseong-gun is a pleasant place well harmonized with mountains, sea and fields as it is formed of the coastal mountains from Sacheon to Masan and the Goseong peninsula on the south, all adjacent to the south sea. Goseong-eup is situated on the narrow rice field made by Goseongman Bay and Danghangman Bay. Goseong is an important gate to the southern Gyeongnam, Tongyeong and Geoje.
Goseong is expecting a high growth as a center of tourism and transportation. The tourism resources include Mt. Yeonhwasan and Okcheonsa Temple (Provincial Park), Danghangpo Naval Battle Sanctuary and Sangjokam County Park with a lot of dinosaur footprints.
